Studio Pottery Luster Trumpet Vase - This studio pottery vase features a tall, slender trumpet neck that flares at the rim and tapers down to a broad, conical base. The exterior of the neck and upper portion of the base are finished in a dark, metallic luster glaze displaying iridescent hues of bronze, gold, and purple. The lower perimeter of the base is decorated with an inlaid geometric pattern of rectangular blocks. These blocks are finished in a white glaze featuring a prominent, intentional crackle or crazed pattern. The base shows a dark-fired clay body. The underside of the base is hand-incised with a monogram consisting of the characters T and P conjoined, sharing a single vertical stem. This monogram is not legible as a spelled name. A small white rectangular adhesive sticker is present on the upper surface of the base (photo 3). Height: approximately 11.25 inches. Base diameter: approximately 9 inches.
