Textured Ceramic Leaping Ibex Sculpture - A stylized ceramic sculpture of a leaping ibex or ram. The figure is depicted in a dynamic, Art Deco-inspired pose with large, curved, ridged horns that form a circular silhouette above its back, mounted on an integral, swept base. The piece is finished in an off-white, granular sand or bisque glaze. The interior is hollow, revealing a smooth white ceramic body. An adhesive red and white paper label on the base is partially torn, with the readable characters Ha. A capital letter A is hand-incised on the base near one of the four green felt pads. A rectangular embossed mark is present near the central opening of the base, but the characters within it are not legible. The form and textured finish are characteristic of mid-century decorative arts from the Royal Haeger pottery line. Base length: 11.5 inches Overall height: 15.5 inches.
