Vtg Japanese Cowboy Boot Table Lighters - A collection of novelty table lighters designed in the form of western cowboy boots. The assortment includes four silver-plated cast metal boots and one molded black ceramic boot. The metal examples feature intricate embossed decorations including floral motifs, scrollwork, and stitching patterns. Several boots are equipped with rotating star spurs at the heel, and one is integrated into a horseshoe-shaped base. The lighters feature various mechanical configurations including lift-arm and striker mechanisms. The black ceramic boot is fitted with a chrome-finished lighter insert. On the pebbled underside of the horseshoe-based boot, there is an impressed mark reading C.M.C. NY, SILVER PLATED, and JAPAN. The sole of a smaller silver-toned boot bears an impressed mark reading MADE IN, OCCUPIED, JAPAN, identifying it as a product of the post-WWII occupation period between 1945 and 1952. A small white paper inventory sticker with illegible handwriting is adhered to the side of one boot. Dimensions: 3 to 6 in high.
