26 Chinese Brass Animal Figures & Hook - An assortment of twenty-six Chinese cast brass miniature animal figurines and a single brass hook tool with a hammer-shaped head. The collection depicts a broad range of subjects including camels, deer, dogs, cats, elephants, rabbits, donkeys, and various birds such as storks, pelicans, and owls. The group also contains mythological Guardian Lions, commonly known as Foo Dogs. Individual pieces are rendered in styles ranging from simplified folk forms to more detailed castings. Functional items within the lot include a deer-mounted bell and several figurines with rectangular bases intended for use as seals or stamps. The solid brass construction shows a varied aged patina with visible surface tarnishing and minor oxidation. The underside of a dachshund-style figurine and an elephant figurine are both incised with the block letters CHINA. One Guardian Lion seal features incised Chinese seal script characters on the base, though these do not spell a readable maker name. Numerous pieces in the collection are marked with white rectangular adhesive stickers bearing the handwritten code T131 in blue ink. Individual pieces range approximately from 0.75 inches to 2.5 inches in height. Dimensions: 1 to 3 in high.
