Ronson, ASR & Omsocolite Table Lighters - An assortment of mid-20th-century metal table lighters featuring various silver- and gold-toned finishes and classical decorative motifs. The collection includes several silver-plated examples in the Crown pattern characterized by a squat, bulbous form with beaded gadrooning and a stepped base. These pieces feature a base with a green felt pad and a recessed metal plate marked RONSON NEWARK N.J. U.S.A. U.S. PAT. RE. NO. 19023 (EXPIRES JUNE 12, 1952) CANADA PATS. 288148 289889 RONSON CROWN TRADE MARK. One silver-toned lighter features a lobed, shell-like body with a base marked ASR LIGHTER MADE IN U.S.A. Another silver-toned example with similar lobed decoration includes a base marked OMSOCOLITE JAPAN on a chrome-finished plate inset within a green felt pad. The assortment also contains an urn-shaped lighter with two handles and a chased foliate design, along with several other gold-toned and silver-toned lighters in various states of finish. One lighter retains a small rectangular tan adhesive paper label marked 605. The pieces demonstrate a variety of mid-century ignition mechanisms, including thumb-press levers and traditional strikers.
