Ronson, Evans, Omskolite Table Lighters - A collection of vintage metal table lighters in various decorative forms including pedestal urns, fluted vessels, and genie lamp styles. The items are constructed from silver-plated and chrome-plated metal. One fluted urn features an impressed mark on the underside reading RONSON (R) NEWARK N.J. U.S.A. U.S. PATENT RE NO. 19023 CANADA PATS. 288.148 - 289.889 RONSON CROWN TRADE MARK. A floral-embossed urn base is impressed with the characters EVANS MADE IN U.S.A. Another fluted base is impressed with EVANS and FUEL. Several pieces are of Japanese origin, including two genie lamp styles with bases impressed MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. One pedestal lighter is impressed with OMSKOLITE AUTOMATIC SUPERLIGHTER JAPAN, and a visually similar pedestal lighter is impressed EXCELLENT FULLY AUTOMATIC SUPERLIGHTER JAPAN. A white paper string tag is attached to one fluted lighter reading RONSON GEORGIAN 22.00 in handwritten ink. The collection features a variety of decorative techniques including gadrooned fluting, scrolling handles, and floral relief embossing. Each piece contains a removable mechanical lighter insert with various thumb-lever and flint-wheel mechanisms.
