Ronson Silver-Plated Table Lighters - A collection of American silver-plated table lighters manufactured by Ronson. The group features two distinct designs: several pieces in the lobed Crown pattern and two pieces in a fluted urn-shaped style. The Crown lighters are designed with a swirling, lobed body accented by beaded borders at the shoulder and foot. The urn-shaped lighters feature vertical fluting and gadrooned edges. All items are constructed of silver-plated base metal and incorporate the characteristic Ronson Fit-All lighter mechanism with a thumb-lever trigger. The bases of the Crown models bear impressed marks reading RONSON, NEWARK, N.J. U.S.A., MADE IN U.S.A., and CROWN, accompanied by a TRADE MARK designation. Numerous patent numbers are impressed on the undersides, including U.S. PATS. RE. 19023, 2483868, 2481983, and CANADIAN PATS. 288.148 and 289.889. The fuel filler screws are marked with the instruction FILL HERE. One base features a green felt pad and an adhesive red price sticker reading 550. Other bases show remnants of green felt lining.
