Medico Apollo Pipe & Brass Dog Stand - A vintage smoking pipe and a novelty metal pipe stand. The pipe is constructed with a dark reddish-brown finished bowl and shank, joined to a curved black stem. A white decorative ring is set at the junction of the shank and stem. The side of the shank bears an impressed mark with reddish pigment reading M E D I C O ? above A p o l l o. A white circular logo containing a stylized letter M is present on the side of the stem. The accompanying stand is cast in the shape of a stylized dog in a gold-toned brass metal. A white inventory string is tied around the pipe stem, and a piece of clear adhesive tape is attached to the rear base of the dog stand. No other manufacturer marks or country of origin labels are visible on either piece.
