Italian Cast Brass Housefly Ashtray - An Italian cast brass ashtray in the form of a housefly. The piece is designed with a hinged wing assembly that opens to reveal a shallow interior compartment. Two flat, rectangular cigarette rests are cast into the sides of the abdomen. The exterior surfaces feature a stippled texture on the head and thorax, with decorative vein and dot patterns cast into the wings. The insect stands on six legs. The underside of the leg assembly is incised with the capital characters MADE IN ITALY. Dimensions: 7.5 in long.
