Wales Japanese Nautical Ceramic Pipes - A group of Japanese ceramic smoking accessories and a mug featuring a nautical motif. The ceramic pieces are finished in a mustard-yellow glaze with dark brown glazed accents at the rims and bases. Each piece is decorated with black transfer-printed illustrations depicting tall-masted sailing vessels at sea, nautical charts, a sextant, and various navigational instruments. The set comprises three table lighters including two cylindrical forms with rope-molded borders and one crescent-shaped boat lighter, a four-pipe rack with a brown glazed back, a two-pipe stand, and a large handled mug. Also included is an assortment of tobacco pipes, featuring one corncob pipe and five dark-stained wood pipes with tapered stems. Several ceramic bases bear a circular black and gold adhesive foil sticker featuring a crown logo, printed with Wales in script, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., and MADE IN JAPAN. The metal lighter mechanisms are stamped JAPAN.
