Dr. Grabow Medico & Willard Briar Pipes - A collection of estate tobacco pipes featuring a variety of traditional shapes including billiard, apple, bulldog, and bent styles. The majority of the pipes are constructed from briar wood with black vulcanite or plastic stems. Several pipes feature impressed marks identifying their manufacturers and models. Multiple pipes bear marks from Dr. Grabow, including a pipe impressed SILVER DUKE over DR. GRABOW, another impressed CROWN DUKE over DR. GRABOW, and others marked RIVIERA over DR. GRABOW and REGAL over DR. GRABOW. The Regal model includes a white spade logo inlaid on the stem. One rusticated pipe is impressed MEDICO over STANDARD over IMPORTED BRIAR. Other marked examples include a pipe impressed WILLARD over IMPORTED BRIAR, one impressed Arlington over IMPORTED BRIAR, and a military-style pipe impressed BROADCASTER over MILITARY STYLE. A pipe featuring a metal radiator-style shank with vertical perforations is impressed MADE IN LONDON ENGLAND. A separate component included in the lot is a long, slender wooden holder with metal fittings at both ends. One black stem is impressed with the characters V.F.Q. Most pieces in the group are impressed with the phrase IMPORTED BRIAR on the shanks. The collection is housed in two presentation trays.
