Vtg Advertising, Ohio Ephemera & Auto - A collection of vintage items including advertising, regional ephemera, and automotive parts. The group features a framed Newspaper Carrier Award with Recommendation Certificate of Merit issued by The Columbus Dispatch to Ralph Barton of Beverly, Ohio, and dated May 28, 1946. The certificate includes the printed signature of E. W. Burwell as Circulation Manager and a copyright mark in the lower left corner reading COPR. 1929 BY AMERICAN NEWSPAPER BOY PRESS, WINSTON-SALEM, N. C. The document is presented in a gold-painted wooden frame with a planked wood backing and a wire hanger. Also included is a United States metal desk thermometer featuring advertising for DAILEY'S ARMY SURPLUS of Chesterville, Ohio 43317, with the phone number (419) 768-3171. The thermometer face includes Fahrenheit and Celsius scales and is marked MADE IN U.S.A. at the base. A rectangular metal smoking tobacco tin features an embossed lid reading VIRGINIA EXTRA DRY. The sides retain partial lithographed labels reading Smokin Tobacco and PREPARED ESPECIALLY TO PLEASE ALL PIPE SMOKERS OF THE ENTIRE WORLD, along with an adhesive paper stamp for the Tobacco Workers Union. The reverse of the tin is printed with the text BLENDING of the FINEST TOBACCOS GROWN FOR SMOKING. The lot is completed by a red plastic automotive tail light lens with silver-painted block lettering reading DODGE, and a small, carved natural horn object with a riveted horn plate.
