Light-O-Matic Aurora Rhinestone Lighter - This rectangular brass table lighter is constructed with a stepped base and decorative panels. All four vertical faces feature intricate scrolled brass filigree. The front and back panels are adorned with central, high-relief applied brass flower heads, each set with a large aurora borealis rhinestone. These central motifs are surrounded by nine smaller prong-set iridescent rhinestones that display blue, green, and gold highlights. The top surface of the lighter body is finished with a fine engine-turned crosshatch pattern and contains a mechanical automatic trigger-style mechanism. The underside is finished with a green felt pad. The lower front of the brass body is stamped with the characters LIGHT-O-MATIC above U.S. PAT. No. 2,781,652. A handwritten paper label adhered to the felt base reads: Rare early style, solid Brass German, Lighter. Exc. style, detail unusual., Very collectable. 35., 140910.
