10 Vtg Ohio & Novelty Belt Buckles - An assortment of ten vintage belt buckles featuring industrial, regional, and novelty motifs from the late 20th century. One brass-tone oval buckle commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (1979-1989). The obverse features a map of Southeastern Ohio and an oil derrick. The reverse bears an incised inscription reading: THIS BUCKLE COMMEMORATES THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FORMATION OF THE SOUTHEASTERN OHIO OIL and GAS ASSOCIATION Limited Edition No. 217 MADE IN USA TBW LOS GATOS, CA. This item is accompanied by a black velvet drawstring pouch. A second industrial piece for MB Operating Co., Inc. (1968-1998) is a copper-tone buckle with maroon and white enamel featuring an oil pumpjack logo. A rectangular buckle, retained in its original plastic packaging, is for Plungerlift Systems Inc. (PSI) of Marietta, Ohio, featuring a blue field with silver-tone lettering and oil derrick graphic. A pewter-tone buckle housed in a cardboard box depicts an eagle in a hard hat and reads: CONSTRUCTION WORKER A BREED APART. The reverse is stamped with the number 881 and the origin TAIWAN. An enameled buckle with a country music theme features a guitar and banjo in relief; the reverse is marked: Indiana Metal Craft copyright 1978. A heavily patinated oval buckle features a chopper-style motorcycle in relief with a chain-link border and the word CHOPPER. A rectangular buckle with an inset blue scene of a jumping fish is marked on the reverse: MADE IN NEW YORK 119. Novelty and nature-themed pieces include a buckle composed of multiple US Lincoln pennies soldered into a cluster.
