French Brass/Silver Metal Table Lighter - A French petrol lighter featuring a cylindrical brass fuel reservoir set between a silver toned metal base and top mechanism. The upper assembly includes a vertical wick tube equipped with a screw on cap, which is secured to the body by a small metal chain. Adjacent to the wick tube is a vertical striker mechanism with a serrated wheel. The horizontal arm connecting the striker and wick assemblies is stamped with the words MADE IN FRANCE in uppercase block letters. A small, diamond shaped mark is impressed on the side of the striker assembly, though the internal characters are not legible. A length of white string is currently tied around the striker arm. The base is constructed from a silver toned metal plate.
