Cast Brass Elephant Mechanical Tap Bell - A vintage mechanical tap bell in the form of an elephant. The piece is constructed of cast brass with a figural elephant base depicted in a walking stance with a raised trunk. The elephant features textured casting to represent skin folds. Mounted to the back of the elephant is a scrolled decorative support holding a brass dome-shaped bell. A plunger finial at the top of the dome operates an internal hammer that strikes the bell rim. No maker marks, signatures, or country of origin labels are visible on any surface of the item. The underside of the feet displays irregular casting textures and no stamped or incised identifiers. One front foot retains a partial circular green felt protective pad. 5.75 high Dimensions: 5.75 in high.
