Vtg Estate Tobacco Pipes & Wood Rack - An assortment of vintage estate tobacco pipes presented on a two-tier wooden storage rack. The collection features a variety of shapes including billiards, Dublins, and pokers, alongside one metal radiator-style system pipe characterized by a visible cooling coil between the bowl and the vulcanite stem. The pipes are constructed from a variety of materials including smooth and rusticated briar, carved meerschaum, and corn cob. Stems are made of black vulcanite, clear lucite, and amber-colored resin. A clear lucite stem is impressed with the vertically oriented characters HAND followed by an illegible sequence of letters (photo 7). One smooth briar pipe features a circular brass-toned inlay on the stem containing a four-armed cross symbol (photo 10). Several pipes are fitted with metal bands at the shank, including one silver-toned example. The wooden rack consists of two tiers with circular cutouts for the bowls and notched supports for the stems, supported by turned spindle pillars. 21x9.5x6 Dimensions: 21 in long, 9.5 in high, 6 in deep.
