Japanese Metal Knight Helmet Lighter - A Japanese cast metal novelty table lighter fashioned in the form of a knight's close helmet with a decorative comb plume. The object is constructed from a zinc-based alloy with a two-tone plated finish. The main body, including the skull and gorget, features a silver-toned finish with intricate, high-relief floral scrollwork. The hinged visor and the lighter activation lever are finished in a contrasting brass tone. The visor is detailed with three horizontal ventilation slits and a stamped scroll pattern along the edges. The lighter mechanism is integrated into the skull and is operated by a thumb lever at the top. The helmet is mounted on a flared circular pedestal base. On the lower rear edge of the metal base, the word JAPAN is embossed in capital letters. The underside of the base is covered with green felt and features two slotted brass screw plugs for fuel and flint replacement. 4.5 in high.
