16 Star Pattern Cotton Quilt Blocks - This group of at least 16 unfinished quilt blocks features an eight-pointed star motif, which is a variation of the traditional Lemoyne Star or Star of Bethlehem pattern. Each block is constructed from machine-pieced diamond-shaped fabric pieces, set into a square background with contrasting corner squares and side triangles. The fabrics consist of a variety of mid-to-late 20th-century cotton and cotton-blend fabrics, including floral calicoes, small-scale prints, and a red-and-white gingham. Background colors include saturated shades of forest green, bright yellow, navy blue, cherry red, and carnation pink. These blocks appear to be home-crafted components for one or more large quilt tops.
