Tapered Wood & Metal Banana Crate - 14x24x 10.5in deep This lot consists of a tapered wooden storage bin, commonly identified as a banana crate or gathering box used for agricultural transport. The crate is constructed of wood panels and vertical wooden support slats, all secured with nails. The structure is reinforced with galvanized metal corner guards and vertical banding strips held in place by metal rivets. The design features a wider top opening that tapers toward the base, which allowed for nesting multiple crates when empty. The interior and bottom reveal a slatted construction, with the base containing two rectangular cutouts. The wood exhibits a natural aged finish with prominent grain patterns.
