German WWII Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery War Badge - This is a German Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery War Badge (Kriegsabzeichen fuer die Marineartillerie), a combat award from the Third Reich era. The badge is struck in a zinc alloy, commonly referred to as Kriegsmetall, which was typical for mid-to-late war production. The obverse features an oval wreath of oak leaves with a national emblem at the apex, consisting of an eagle with outspread wings clutching a wreathed swastika. The central motif depicts a coastal artillery gun pointed upward toward the left, positioned against a stylized sea background. The badge has a solid-back construction. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal pin-back assembly. Both the hinge and the catch are mounted on small circular base plates. Faint, indented marks are present on the reverse near the catch assembly, but they are not clearly legible and the maker cannot be definitively identified. The design and hardware configuration are consistent with late-war German manufacture.
