WWII German Heer Panzer Assault Badge in Silver by Karl Wurster - This badge is a die-struck zinc Panzer Assault Badge in silver grade, a combat award established in 1939 for armored unit personnel. It features a solid-back construction characteristic of the manufacturer Karl Wurster of Markneukirchen. The obverse displays a Panzer IV tank within an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by the Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika. The reverse features a raised manufacturer mark consisting of a large stylized letter W with a smaller w shape composed of three vertical strokes nestled in the upper center opening. The hardware consists of a soldered hinge and a round-wire pin that tapers toward the end, secured by a soldered C-catch. A fragment of purple thread remains caught in the catch assembly.
