WWII US Navy PT Boat Sailor Uniform, Document, and Photograph Grouping - Named to John William Pohl, - This grouping features a World War II United States Navy enlisted dark blue wool jumper, commonly referred to as a crackerjack uniform. The left sleeve displays a Petty Officer Second Class rating badge for a Motor Machinist?s Mate (MOMM), featuring an eagle over a propeller flanked by the letters M and O, positioned above two red chevrons. A circular specialty patch with the letters PT is hand-sewn to the lower left sleeve in gold-toned thread. The right chest displays a gold-on-blue Ruptured Duck honorable discharge patch. The sailor collar features the standard three white stripes and two embroidered stars. Included in the lot is the original Notice of Separation from the U. S. Naval Service for John William Pohl, Service Number 800 28 65. This document records his service from April 9, 1943, to November 25, 1945, specifically citing service with Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 37 (MTBSsq 37). Other stations listed include USNTSS Sampson, NY, and RS Portsmouth, RI. The lot contains a modern reproduction of Pohl?s Navy Identification Card.
