WWI-Era US Army Model 1916 Circular Identification Tag for John D. Cash - A United States Army Model 1916 circular identification tag, commonly known as a dog tag. The tag is constructed from a non-magnetic metal, likely aluminum or monel, and features an integral suspension loop at the 12 o'clock position and a secondary alignment hole at the 6 o'clock position. This specific two-hole configuration was standardized during the World War I era. The obverse side is stamped with the name JOHN D CASH in a semi-circular arc along the upper edge and USA horizontally in the center. The reverse side is stamped CO H for Company H on the upper portion and the service number 14007423 across the center. A small, open metal jump ring is attached to the top suspension loop.
