American Primitive Cherry & Pine Chest - 33x16x33 An American country-style chest of drawers, also referred to as a cottage chest, dating to the mid-to-late 19th century. The piece is constructed with cherry or a similar fruitwood primary wood and white pine secondary wood, featuring a reddish-brown finish. The top is designed with a gallery backsplash and shaped side rails. Three full-width drawers are set into the case, each featuring wide, hand-cut dovetail joinery visible on the sides. The drawers are fitted with six turned wooden pull knobs and individual central keyholes. The base features a shaped apron and the back is composed of wide vertical planks. No maker's marks or labels are present.
