American Pinwheel & Floral Medallion Quilt - 68 x 72 This is a hand-pieced and hand-quilted American patchwork quilt featuring a traditional pinwheel or windmill design. The quilt top is constructed from alternating square blocks. One set of blocks features a multi-colored pinwheel motif pieced from shades of royal blue, sky blue, and deep purple. These alternate with solid lavender squares that are decorated with intricate hand-quilted floral and foliate medallions. Additional quilting includes diagonal parallel lines within the pinwheel blocks. The quilt is finished with a chocolate brown border featuring a hand-quilted double-scalloped or wavy line pattern and a narrow sky-blue binding. The reverse side consists of a solid medium-blue fabric. The materials are primarily cotton or cotton-blend fabrics.
