Mid-20th C. Hand-Quilted 8-Point Star Scrap Quilt - 50 x 66 This vintage handmade scrap quilt features a repeating eight-point star pattern, a variant of the LeMoyne Star. The piece is hand-pieced and hand-quilted with visible white running stitches. The quilt is constructed from a diverse collection of cotton and cotton-blend fabric scraps, including various ginghams, plaids, stripes, polka dots, and floral prints. These patterned diamonds form the star motifs, which are set within a bright yellow lattice sashing. The intersections of the sashing are highlighted by small dark brown square blocks. The reverse of the quilt features a simple, light-colored solid fabric backing.
