Roseville Foxglove Art Pottery Basket, 375-12 - An American art pottery basket produced by the Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. This piece is part of the Foxglove pattern, which was introduced by the company in 1942. The item is made of earthenware and finished in a matte glaze with a shaded ombr? color palette, transitioning from a pinkish-tan terracotta tone at the top to a dark chocolate brown at the base. The form features a flared body with a scalloped rim and a large, circular overhead handle with a decorative point at its apex. Two small, pierced handles are located at the sides. The exterior is decorated with molded relief foxglove flower spikes in pink and tan hues with green foliage. The underside of the foot is marked in raised script with Roseville U.S.A. 375-12 and includes an incised mark that appears to be a numeral 7. Height: 12 inches.
