Hendryx Brass Birdcage & Cast Iron Stand - 64in tall This early 20th-century birdcage was produced by the Hendryx company of New Haven, Connecticut. The round cage features a domed top and is constructed of brass-toned metal wire with a fine mesh lower splash guard. The interior contains three wooden perches, and two molded clear glass feeders with a decorative shell pattern are attached to the exterior. A rectangular brass nameplate identifies the manufacturer with the stamped text: MADE IN U.S.A., HENDRYX, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF., NEW HAVEN, CONN. The cage is suspended from a tall, curved metal floor stand that leads to a weighted circular cast metal base. The base is decorated with relief foliate scrollwork and retains traces of blue paint.
