Juan Pinuel Pair Wood Bullfighting Sculptures - This set of two hand-carved wood sculptures by Juan Pinuel portrays a traditional Spanish bullfighting scene. The set includes a matador and a charging bull, both rendered in dark-stained wood with a chiseled, faceted surface. The matador is depicted in the banderillero stance with arms held aloft, dressed in a detailed traje de luces and a black-painted montera hat. The matador figure is mounted to a circular wooden base incised with a JP monogram. The bull is sculpted in a charging pose with inset horns of a secondary material.
