Vtg Chipso & Maytag Household Advertising - This collection includes a vintage Chipso laundry soap box and a Maytag brand appliance maintenance kit. The cardboard box is for condensed soap flakes and features lithographed advertising graphics with mid-century motifs, including the slogan for brighter washes and a starburst stating more suds per cupful. The maintenance set, produced by The Maytag Company of Newton, Iowa, includes one large handled pouring can with a hinged spout lid and two smaller thumb-pump oil cans with tapered spouts. Each metal component features a lithographed label with the Maytag company crest, which depicts an arm-and-hammer motif and an hourglass. The set is housed in a circular wire-mesh caddy featuring a woven wicker base.
