Naegele Portrait of a Man Oil on Canvas Painting - A Charles Frederick Naegele (American, 1857 - 1944) oil on canvas painting possibly depicting Sidney Hillman, the first president of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America. Signed lower right. Presented in a gilt frame. Sight: 30” x 24” Condition: Fair condition having wear commensurate with age, 4 vertical scratches starting on the forehead and trailing down to the left arm, a horizontal scratch across the left side of the chest, a small diagonal scratch in the upper left, cracking in the paint is beginning to show in several spots, significant separations occuring in the top corners of the frame causing a larger separation around the cove of the frame, and losses to the trim of the frame in several areas.
