William Post Tributary Landscape Oil on Board Painting - A William Merritt Post (American, 1856-1935) oil on board painting depicting a tributary running through a wooded area with a mountain in the background. Signed 'W Post' lower right. Presented in a gilt wood cassetta style frame. Sight: 10” x 17.5” Condition: Overall fair condition commensurate with age. Painting has minor loss throughout and two long scratches near center and upper right of scene, a smaller loss near the lower right, and what appears to be a water stain near center. Frame is structurally sound but has minor losses throughout and larger losses in the lower left and upper right corners as well as lower right near the artist signature. Dimensions: 14 x 22 x 1.5 in
