Luo Ping Watercolor and Ink on Paper - A Luo Ping 羅聘 (Chinese, 1733-1799) watercolor and ink on paper mounted to silk lined panel one of three depicting a shepherd with his goats. There are four seals along the top and one at the lower right. Signature along the left side with artist's seals and a poem by Zhou Dunyi ???. Provenance: From the estate of Fred E Armstrong of Mobile, AL purchased during his time in China (Shanghai or Hong Kong) while traveling around the world in the 1930’s as documented in his book Travel Tales Around the World. This trip was made possible by the sales from his publication company Armstrong Systems. The painting was passed down through descent to his great grandson Evan Foreman of Atlanta, GA. Condition: Fair condition commensurate with age showing significant discoloration of paper and large tear or puncture at center on subjects clothing. Dimensions: 63 x 30 x 1 in
