First Edition.  A comprehensive guide to astronomy in Hebrew, authored by the holy Gaon Rabbi David Ganz , author of Tzemach David. With many unique and interesting woodcuts.  A complete copy of Sefer Nechmad V’Nai’im. This copy includes the additional 20-page preface in Latin written by Prof. Christian Hebenstreit of Leipzig University, which is lacking in most copies.  Rabbi Gans' Comprehensive Astronomical Essay, originally written in the early 17th century, but published only 130 years after his death in 1743. This is the first Hebrew essay on cosmological methods, including the first mention of Copernicus in Hebrew. With many astronomical illustrations and tables. Rabbi David Ganz (1541-1613), a native of Prague, was a disciple of R. Moshe Isserles (Remah) as well as R. Bezalel Lowe, known as the MaHaral of Prague.
