Adam Sichli - Rare First Edition - Tihingen, 1560 - RARE FIRST EDITION: Adam Sichli , A kabbalistic commentary on the Rambam’s Thirteen Principles of Jewish Faith, Yud-Gimmel Middos and Aseres Hadibros by Rabbi Shimon ben Rabbi Shmuel of France. This sefer features the Rambam’s Thirteen Principles of Jewish Faith with Rabbi Shimon’s commentary beside it. First Edition. Tihingen, 1560 The purpose of this sefer was to prove the connection between the Thirteen Principles of Faith and Yud-Gimmel (Thirteen) Attributes of Compassion. The author also expertly weaves the Ten Commandments into his commentary. Rabbi Shimon ben Rabbi Shmuel of France was one of the great Ashkenazic sages of his era. He authored the present sefer in 1400 (as noted at the end of the work). Adam Sichli was widely disseminated and there are many handwritten manuscripts of this work, yet this was the very first printed edition of the sefer which was later reprinted in numerous editions. At the top of the pages are the words Hadras Kodesh which is the second name of this sefer, as noted on the title page.
