Sefer Ginzey Yosef of a Talmid of the Maggid of Mezritch — from the Treasury of the Munkatcher Rebbes ZYA”A With a segulah kvittel preserved בין דפי הספר — a Sugulah for בעלי בתי חולים that no אנשי בליעל should be able to harm their livelihood, and that they merit hatzlachah and parnassah tovah. Ginzey Yosef by the gaon ha’kadosh R’ Yosef Bloch of Stanov ZYA”A (a talmid of the Maggid of Mezritch and of Zlotchov), first edition, Lemberg 1792. Printed with the haskamos of the great lights of early Chassidus: the Meir Nesivim, the Kedushas Levi of Barditchov, R’ Yissocher Ber of Zlotchov, R’ Zusha of Anipoli, R’ Avrohom Moshe of Peshvorsk, and others. This particular copy was mekudash with a triple kedushah from the beis genozim d’malka — the holy treasury of the Munkatcher Rebbes: The Shem Shlomo of Munkatch (1832–1893), with his seal from his tenure in Strzyżov His son, the Darchei Teshuvah (1850–1914) His son, the Minchas Elazar (1872–1937) All three seals appear in close succession. “Hoshana po’el yeshuos, hoshana tzaddik nosha’os” Tucked בין דפי הספר was found a handwritten kvittel sent by a Yid from the city of Yaroslav, asking to be remembered for yeshuah and rachamim. In it, he describes a very specific tzarah: He owned a hospital for his parnassah, and wicked men were attempting to seize it from him. “B’ezras Hashem, Yaroslav Shmuel ben Miriam — for hatzlachah and parnassah tovah Miriam bas Devorah — for bri’us haguf and all good Their daughter Reizel — for a refuah sheleimah and all her needs peacefully Their daughter Rochel — to be raised to all good I beg very much from the Rebbe shlita to daven for me, that no ish beliyaal should be able to harm me. For I have worked many years in this hospital, and now a man has risen against me and taken it from me. Please have rachmanus on me that Hashem should help me retrieve it and restore it to me, for all good.” From the form of the ksav it is evident that this kvittel dates from an early period. Its appearance strongly suggests that it was sent to the Shem Shlomo — and perhaps even earlier, to his father, the holy R’ Elazar of Lantzut. It appears that the holy descendants preserved this kvittel as a yerushah, as a segulah for protection from אנשי בליעל and for continued hatzlachah in parnassah!
