“Ein Tefillaso Chozeres Reikam” — Siddur HaShlah, Amsterdam 1742 Important Second Edition of Shaar HaShamayim! Siddur Shaar HaShamayim, with the peirush of R’ Yeshayah ben R’ Avraham HaLevi Horowitz — the Shlah HaKadosh — according to the minhag of Poland, Reisin, Lita, and Moravia. Printed in Amsterdam, 1742 — an important second edition of the Siddur HaShlah. In this edition, the printers proudly note that additions were included which did not appear in the first edition (along with certain omissions). According to the Oz VeHadar edition, these additions include: Lamnatzeach in the form of the menorah at the beginning of Shacharis, Sefiras HaOmer after Maariv, the full Seder Birchas HaMazon, and the halachos and nusach of Birchas HaNehenin. “His Tefillah Does Not Return Empty” Regarding the nusach of this siddur, The Bach writes in his haskamah to the first edition: “…Ki ein safek etzleinu kol mi she’mispallel b’socho she’ein tefillaso chozeres reikam…” A powerful expression regarding the nusach and hanhagah of the Siddur HaShlah. On the sha’ar appears a signature: Shlomo Zalman Cohen e”s, and throughout the siddur are several hagahos in his ksav yad [possibly from the same hand].
