Our guess this Hand Colored photo with a Bermuda Garden Scene is from 1900s.. Trott was one of many Bermudians who took up the medium of photography and then enhanced his images with hand-tinting them. This process gave greater depth to these already enchanting images. The process became so popular that the commercial tourist industry reproduced many of these images in factories in Germany, for instance. Because the foreign artisans had no context for Bermuda, they often tinted the Bermuda roofs in blue, red, and green instead of the iconic snowy white! The colored photos are part of the Museum Of Bermuda Art. The hand colored photo dimensions are Approx. 6.75" x 4.75".
