Copy of the Holy Admor the of Atzei Chaim of Sighet – Copy of Rabbi Chaim Zvi Ehrenreich ABD Mad. Responsa Mahari Ashkenazi (Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi of Zlotshov, grandfather of Rabbi Yoel of Satmar) – Munkacz 1893. Approbation of the author’s son-in-law, the Admor Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet: “To bring blessing into their homes.” - First edition of the responsa of Mahari Ashkenazi, on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim and Yoreh De’ah, by Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Zlotshov – brother-in-law and son-in-law of the Baal HaYitav Lev. Munkatch, 1893. On the  flyleaf: Inscription of the authors grandson the holy Admor, the Atzei Chaim of Sighet: “ This sefer belongs to the one who purchased it, and whoever purchased for the one who has coins, and whoever has coins, the gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Chaim Zvi.” Self-dedication on the title page: “With God’s help, I received this sefer as a gift from my honored friend Rabb Chaim Zvi Teitelbaum, may he live, son of the holy Admor, Av Beit Din of Sighet, shlit”a.” Ownership inscription : “This precious sefer belongs to my holy and honorable father shlit”a rabbi of the Mad community. Moshe Leib Ehrenreich  At the beginning of the sefer, the approbation of the author’s son-in-law, the Admor Rebbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum, Baal Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet, states that the sefer will bring blessing to the homes of its buyers: “And I request my brothers… that this serfer bring blessing into their homes, and they shall take the book with full payment… and by the merit of my father-in-law, the author, may we be protected to be blessed from the dwelling of blessings and abundance of joy.” Following this, printed are the introduction of the author’s son, Rabbi Asher Anshil Ashkenazi (son-in-law of the Admor Rebbi Chanoch Henich of Alesk), and the introductions of the author’s grandsons, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch and Rabbi Yisrael Ashkenazi. The Holy Gaaon Rebbe Chaim Zvi Teitelbaum, author of Atzei Chaim (1880-1926), son of the author of Kedushat Yom Tov Rebbi Chananaya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum and from 1904 successor as Rabbi and Av Beit Din of Siget and as rebbe of Siget Chassidim. Son-in-law of Rebbe Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Újfehértó (Ratzfert) son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Traveled to Chassidic tsaddikim of his times, especially to his Holy uncles, Rebbe Yechezkel Shraga of Sieniawa and Rebbe Baruch of Görlitz, as well as to Rebbe Yehoshua of Belz. Prominent Torah scholar and outstanding holy G-d fearing person, he reputedly never forgot anything he learned and was known for his exceptional cleverness. A short while after he was appointed Rabbi of Siget [capital of the Maramureş region] at the age of 24, and rebbe of Siget Chassidim, he became a foremost Hungarian leader who determined the policies of the national Orthodox office of the country. His had major impact on almost all Hungarian Charedi communities, both those belonging to the Chassidic sector and those belonging to the Ashkenazi sector. His opinion held much weight and was conclusive in choosing rabbis and appointing the dayanim and shochtim of the various communities, especially those in which Siget Chassidim dwelled [Siget was the largest Chassidic dynasty in the Maramureş region]. His was the elder brother and teacher of Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar. The Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Ehrenreic h (1873-1936), son-in-law of his uncle Rabbi Naftali Schwartz author of Beit Naftali. He was the disciple and only brother of the rabbi of Shamloy. He received a rabbinic ordination from his brother, as well as from the Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet. In 1897, he was appointed rabbi of Mád, Hungary. He authored several halachic works, including Responsa Kav Chaim, Ketzeh HaMateh on Mateh Efraim, and Chaim on Shaarei Efraim. Following his passing, his brother Rabbi Shlomo Zalman published the Yikra DeChaim booklet (Shamloi 1937) - eulogy on his brother and on the Minchat Elazar of Munkacs. His son the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib Ehrenreich (1904-1944), was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shmuel Zalman Weinberger Rabbi of Margareten (Marghita). He served as dayan and posek in Margareten. In 1937, he succeeded his father as rabbi of Mád. He was murdered on 26th Sivan, 1944 Hy''d. He left behind a manuscript composition - Zichron LeMoshe on the Torah. A few responsa he authored are published in Yikra DeChaim (New York, 1971). The author, the Gaon Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Zlotshov (circa 1810–1882), was the son of the Admor Rebbi Moshe David Ashkenazi, Av Beit Din of Tolcsva and Safed, and son-in-law of his eminent teacher, the gaon Rabbi Yaakov of Lissa, author of Netivot HaMishpat and Chavat Da’at. His daughter, the Rebbetzin Chana Teitelbaum, married her cousin, the Admor Kedushat Yom Tov of Sighet, who was the father of the Admorim, Baal Atzei Chaim of Sighet and Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar (named after him).
