Letter from the gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Fried, Av Beit Din of Tisza-Lök. 1899. - A certification letter for the ritual slaughterer (shochet) Rabbi David Stokhamer of Bitch, written in the handwriting of the gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Fried, Av Beit Din of Tisza-Lök. In the document, he notes that the shochet already possesses certifications from the rabbinical court of Kraków and from the Av Beit Din of Munkacs, but that the communities of Hungary require that he also hold certification from Hungarian rabbis. Tisza-Lök, 1899. Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Fried (1835–1917), Av Beit Din of Tisza-Lök, was the son of Rabbi Avraham Aharon Tzvi, Av Beit Din of Negrești. He also served as Av Beit Din in Betlan and Negrești, and from 1872 as Av Beit Din of Tisza-Lök. Responsa addressed to him were published in Avnei Tzedek, Mahariatz, Neta Sorek, and Beit Naftali. He passed away in 1917 and was succeeded by his son, Rabbi Aharon Moshe Fried (Shem HaGedolim Me’eretz HaGar, vol. 8, p. 54; Alei Zikaron, issue 36, p. 26).
