Collection of Kabbalistic Works and Prayers - Likutim Me’Rav Hai Gaon - Warsaw 1798, First Edition.-Includes the rare folded page of Ilan Sefiros- Printed at the Instruction of the Kozhnitzer Maggid. - Likutim from Rabbi Hai Gaon, containing a collection of early, profound kabbalistic writings, among them works printed here for the first time (see the detailed list below). First Edition. Warsaw, 1798. This is one of the earliest Hebrew seforim printed in Warsaw, a city which would later become one of the great centers of Hebrew publishing. The sefer was printed with the blessing and encouragement of the Maggid, Rebbi Israel of Kozhnitz, from manuscripts that had been preserved in his personal treasury. These writings were copied by his disciple, the publisher Rabbi Gabriel of Warsaw. In the approbation of the Maggid of Kozhnitz, printed on the verso of the title page, he writes about the manuscripts and about their printing at his behest, and notes that Rebbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev also gave his approval for the sefer’s publication: “and with the consent and authorization of the eminent gaon, the glory of the generation, beloved of God and my beloved friend, the man of God, our master Rebbe Levi Yitzchak, may his light shine, Av Beit Din of the holy community of Berditchev.” The Maggid of Kozhnitz held this sefer in very high esteem, studied it and delved into it with great depth, and even composed a profound kabbalistic commentary upon it. This commentary was printed only after his passing (Tishrei 1814), in Lemberg ca 1840's, and was titled Ner Yisrael. In his own works, the Maggid of Kozhnitz mentions many times the present Sefer ha-Likkutim and the commentary he wrote upon it. A complete copy, including the folded leaf (leaf 36) containing the Ilan HaSefiros diagram. This folded leaf is missing from many copies and is exceedingly rare. Stefansky Chassidus, no. 305.
