Two One Dollar Bills Received from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, One on Erev Shavuot 5744, and One on Tu B'Av 5744 - The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, led the Chabad-Lubavitch movement from 1951. He is known for his profound wisdom, compassionate leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Jewish people. One of the many ways he sought to uplift and inspire was through the distribution of dollar bills. It was customary for the Lubavitcher Rebbe to give out dollars to his Chassidim and many other men women and children who came to see him on different occasions. The Dollars were usually distributed in relation to Holidays and Significant Days of the Year, on Sundays, and in the Rebbes later years different variations of dollars were given out and included along with the special Kuntreisim that would be distributed in 770. These two dollar bills were received from the Lubavitcher Rebbe on two spiritually significant dates in the Jewish calendar: The first was distributed on the eve of Shavuot, the 5th of Sivan 5744 (1984), a sacred time when Jews prepare themselves for the giving of the Torah by elevating to higher levels of holiness and spiritual readiness. The second dollar was given on the 15th of Av (Tu B’Av), a day historically associated with joy and renewal. Tu B’Av marks the end of past suffering during the time of the Beit HaMikdash and is celebrated as a time of blessings, growth, and unity. On the Front of each these Dollar Bills is written R' Avraham Yaakov Ginsberg: 1. ” Erev Shavuot 5744.” 2. ” Tu B'Av 5744.” Provenance: R' Avraham Yaakov Ginsberg.
