Printed by Rabbi Shlomo Franco. 114 leaves. The author, the esteemed Rabbi Yisrael Benveniste, was one of the rabbis and Dayanim of Constantinople. He was the son of Rabbi Eliezer and the nephew of Rabbi Chaim Benveniste of the sages of Izmir. He studied Torah under his uncle, Rabbi Yehoshua, author of Sadeh Yehoshua. He maintained correspondence with his uncle, the renowned Chabib – Rabbi Chaim Benveniste, author of Kenesset HaGedolah, who praised him highly: ”The light and sanctity of Israel, the glory and splendor of the generation, the mighty shepherd, the complete sage, the distinguished judge, exalted and revered, our teacher Rabbi Yisrael Benveniste, may his light shine.” 2.
