He learned Torah by Rabbi Meir Arik, and Chassidus by the Admor Rabbi Moshe Hager of Kossov. In later years, the Admor appointed him to edit his important sefer ”Leket Ani.” Rabbi David immigrated to Eretz Yisrael where he served as a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah until his passing in 1962.
