Venice: Asher Parenzo for Zuan Bragadin [in the press of Giovanni di Gara], 1579. First edition. Rabbi Yitzchak Abarbanel's work on Neviim was printed in Italy several years after his passing (Pesaro, 1511, 1520), while his work on the Torah was only first printed in the present edition, some fifty years later. The edition was proofread by Rabbi Shmuel Archivolti, as stated on the title page. Erased signature of Rabbi Aaron Yaakov Sagrei. Ownership inscription of R. Yosef Sagrei signed by R. Abraham Sagrei. Antique marginal notations in a old Italian hand. Antique Italian signature: Menachem Katzigin. He was a Italian Rabbi. ff. 425 (i.e. 424), (1).30.3 Cm. Vinograd, Venice 641; Mehlman 626; Adams A-54. Printer’s device on title (Yaari, 18). Overall Good condition, some stains, title page has a marginal tape repair, small marginal tears on first few pages, a few frayed corners, original binding slightly rubbed.
