The Holy Rebbe Nachum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov (1874-1946), was the eldest son and successor of the Holy Rebbe Yisroel of Chortkov and a son-in-law of the Holy Rebbe Shlomo Friedman (the first) of Sadigura. He was particularly close to his grandfather the Holy Rebbe Dovid Moshe of Chortkov (son of the Ruzhiner). During World War I, he moved with his father to Vienna and was his father’s right hand in all community matters. In 1933 with the passing of his father he succeeded him as Chortkover Rebbe together with his brother Reb Dov Ber. He was one of the heads of the Agudas Yisroel and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. In 1939, he immigrated to Eretz Israel and settled in Tel Aviv. The Holy Rebbe Shlomo Friedman of Chortkov (1894-1959), was the son and successor of Rebbe Nochum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov and grandson of the Holy Rebbe Yisroel of Chortkov. Following the passing of his father in 1946 he succeeded him as Chortkover Rebbe. Author of sefer Divrei Shlomo.
