First edition, Vilna 1900. A classic Mussar Sefer. Stamps of Rabbi Shmuel David Rabbi of Nitra and the author of Na’ot Deshe (1886-1945) was the son of Rabbi Yosef Moshe of Pishtian. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Noah Baruch Fisher of Preshov. He served as dayan in Kromnitz in 1914, and rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Tirnau in 1918. In 1931 he was appointed Rabbi of Nitra, where he became famous as successor to Rabbi Avraham Aharon Katz. He also led the yeshiva there, which was the last yeshiva to survive in Slovakia during the Shoah (it was called “the Jewish Vatican”). He was called “President of the Charedi Communities of Czechoslovakia”) and was a leader of the Agudas Yisrael. He died of hunger and weakness while hiding from the Nazis in the Kolisti forest during the Shoah. His students published a collection, “Halachot HaChadash”, of his after his death. He was the father-in-law of the Admor of Sanz Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Teitelbaum (second marriage), and the Gaon Rabbi Haim Michael Dov Weismandel. He was a Jeweller in Vienna  & perished in the Shoah Hy''d. . Yosef Felsenburg was born in Topolcany in 1901 to Avraham. Prior to WWII he lived in Wien, Austria. During the war he was in Pressburg, Czechoslovakia. Yosef perished in 1942 in Auschwitz Camp Hy''d.
