Wedding dedication inscription by Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg, author of Be’er Shmuel to Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev Ehrenreich Dayan of Mad - Sefer Chiddushei Ya'avetz. Novaelle on tractate Chulin, by Rabbi Yaakov Koppel the Rabbi of Vrbove. Pressburg, 1837. First edition. The book was published soon after the author's death, and his sons write that they want to publish novella on more tractates. With an enthusiastic approbation from Rabbi Moshe Sofer, the Chatam Sofer. Five line dedication on title page in the Holy hand of  Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg to Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev Ehrenreich on the occasion of his wedding. Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev was born in 1901, so this dedication was written towards the end of the Gaon's life as he passed away in 1919. It should be noted that the Gaonim of Shamloy & Unsdorf were friends. In 1893 Rabbi Shlomo Zalmen filled his post as Rabbi in Tshaba after Rabbi Shmuel went from there to Unsdorf. Fair-bad condition, worming, stains, old simple binding, lacking spine. Rabbi Shmuel Rosenberg, author of Be’er Shmuel (1842-1919), foremost Hungarian rabbi Rosh Yeshiva and miracle worker. He was a leading disciple of the Ketav Sofer. From 1873, he served as rabbi of Tshaba (Hejőcsaba), and in 1883, he was appointed rabbi of Unsdorf, where he founded a large yeshiva & served there for 35 years, of the most prominent in Hungary and the region. He was renowned for his exceptional devotion to his disciples, and indeed, many of them became the leaders of the next generation (Rabbi Shmuel David Ungar Rabbi of Nitra, and many others). He was reputed for his remarkable holiness, and rebbes of the Munkacs dynasty acclaimed him often for his Divine Inspiration. Many turned to him in quest of his blessings or prayers for various matters. He would conduct himself like a Rebbe in his yeshiva, leading Tish and distributing shirayim. He fought to preserve faithful Jewry, and stood at the helm of Orthodox Jewry in its battles against the leaders of Reform. Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev Ehrenreich, Dayan of Mad, a sharp and knowledgeable Gaon. The son of the Gaon, Av Beis Din of Shamloy, author of Shut Lechem Shlomo, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich. Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev was, by his first marriage, the son-in-law of his uncle Av Beis Din of Mad author of Shut Kav Chaim, Rabbi Chaim Zvi Ehrenreich. In Sivan 1944, Rabbi Shimon Ze'ev's wife, children and son-in-law perished in Auschwitz. After the Holocaust, he founded the Keses Shlomo enterprise for publishing the writings of his holy father. Passed away in 1965.
