By Rabbi David Tevele HaKohen Schiff, rabbi of London and England First edition, Offenbach 1822.  Signed on page 1 by the famous Gaon Rabbi Meir Don Plotzky (1866-1928) was born in Kutna to his father R' Chaim Yitzchok and studied under Rabbi Chaim Elazar Waks of Kalish and his son-in-law Rabbi Yisrael Yehoshua of Kutna, and also under the Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov. He was a staunch adherent of the Rebbes of Ger.  He was very active in the exposure of the fraudulent Talmud Yerushalmi on Seder Kadshim. This fraud initially misled many rabbinic leaders, but the scam was later revealed, inter alia, after Rabbi Meir Dan published the work called Sha'alu Shlom Yerushalayim in which he proved the fraud.  Rabbi of Warta and Rosh Yeshiva at the Mesifta in Warsaw and leading Polish rabbinical figure. Rabbi David Tevele HaKohen Schiff was a disciple of the author of Pnei Yehoshua, the rabbi of Frankfurt. He served as dayan in Frankfurt, and from 1765 served as chief rabbi in London. He was a prominent Torah scholar and rabbi of his generation and was very active in promoting Torah and Torah awareness. He held halachic correspondence with the author of Noda B'Yehuda, and with his colleague Rabbi Natan Maas of Frankfurt who counseled with him in their prolific correspondence. The book was printed soon after the author's passing, by his nephew, Rabbi Gavriel Adler who included an introduction with the author's biography. Rabbi Adler also added Kanfei Nesharim with novellae by his relatives, rabbis of the Adler family.
